CASE STUDY: SYMO Parasols

In 2017, SYMO Parasols, a leading European brand, sought to enhance its market share in the UK and appointed The Curious Group as its UK representative.
​
From the outset, The Curious Group leveraged its marketing acumen and sales expertise to penetrate the UK market. Following strategic discussions at the board level, we developed a comprehensive marketing strategy that included a SWOT and competitor analysis. We implemented a series of initiatives, including a website update, a three-year program of photographic and video content production to enrich the company's asset library, and the distribution of regular newsletters to our proprietary database of over 1000,000 key decision-makers.

In 2023, The Curious Group was further tasked with expanding SYMO's sales into the Asia-Pacific region. Using our extensive network, we established connections with sales agents across the Far East, positioning them as on-the-ground representatives. This sustained initiative includes annual month-long trips to the region to engage with agents, participate in 'meet the buyers' sessions, and conduct direct visits to restaurants, hotel groups, design agencies, specifiers, and architects, promoting SYMO's range of commercial and designer parasols.

Our focused approach to lead generation combined with consistent marketing support has resulted in a 4000% increase in UK sales revenue from 2017 to 2024, bringing it to the third largest contributing region. SYMO also now has preferred supplier status within a number of global hotel groups, including those in the APAC region.
